  1. Art Contest, Art Walk, Art Silent Auction
    Erin Hunter invites local artists of every age, to participate in the Warrior's Day Art Contest, Art Walk and Art Silent Auction.  Art entries can be entered at the Russellville Arts Center (see below) no later than September 12, 2008.  Local Artists will narrow the winners down to a top 10, and Erin Hunter will judge the winner and award trophies in each category, while she is here September 20, at Warrior's Day.  All entries will be displayed at Warrior's Day, on an "Art Walk" so that everyone can see the art.   Artists are invited to donate their art (or create two, one to keep, one to donate) with proceeds going to Bright Spirit Relief Fund.

  2. Creative Writing

    How to sign up:    Drop your poem, or short story off at the Russellville Art Center 479-968-2452 Or Vintage Books, 602 E Parkway, Russellville

    Local writers of every age are invited to enter the writing contest.  Entries must be submitted before August 20th, as they will be mailed to Erin Hunter, in the United Kingdom.  The Erins, as well as honored judges Ben Baglio, and Shelia Ruth of Wands and Worlds.com will judge the winners, and Erin Hunter will present the trophies to the winners at Warriors Day.

    ART WALK on Warriors Day for everyone to see all of the entries, and Erin Hunter will present the winners after everyone has had a chance to see them.  Any artist who wishes to, can donate their Warrior Art for the Auction, with proceeds to benefit Bright Spirit Relief Fund!  Don’t want to donate yours?  Make TWO and donate one!

  3. PET SHOW Erin Hunter's books honor the animal kingdom.  Emmy Loved animals.   Erin Hunter has purchased the trophies that she will be awarding to the winning animals, based on characters in the Warrior books and their attributes.   Trophies will also be awarded in honor of Emmy's cat, Shasta, and Erin's beloved Dog, Missy!

    Categories will include Cats, dogs, and other animals.

    Photo Pet: Open only to Worldwide Warriors who live outside of Arkansas  (send a photo of your pet for Erin to judge) see www.wandsandworlds.com for entry form, and mailing address).   Winner receives certificate, and Warrior’s Day Tee Shirt!

    PET ADOPTION:  Furry Friends in Need with Russellville Animal Shelter  Animals will be at the City Park near the site of the Pet Show, for adoption!

    PET CARE TIPS:  Local Vets/Groomers Will be on site, near Pet Show on Warrriors Day!  Have your questions ready!

  4. EMMY’s FAVORITE FOODS CONTEST: Children use recipes from Brightspirit web site to bake Emmy’s favorite sweets, for Erin Hunter to Judge!  How to sign up: Art Center, Vintage Books  

  5. STORYTELLING: Students put on a play written by Erin Hunter to perform at Warriors DayHow to sign up:  Dustin Curry, Or Russellville High School Art Department

  6. Face Painting:  Kelly Kizer and team, no need to sign up, just get in line at Warriors Day!

  7. WARRIORS FAMILY TREE AND YOURS!—On site at Hughes Center   during Warriors Day

  8. MEDICINE CAT AWARDS: Community Heroes Children who have done some service to their community in 2008,  and who are willing challenge others to do the same  (example, 3rd grade class at Pottsville who picked up cans and made money to buy trees to replant after storm). How to sign up a hero you know:    Send your nomination with a brief summary of how this child, or group of children have served their community.

  21. 2:00 PM:  BOOK SIGNING AT VINTAGE BOOKS,   2:00pm to end of the day, and until every child is seen.   Ticketed event. You must have a FREE TICKET to enter.  Tickets are available now at Vintage Books. Book signing will begin at 2pm, while Warriors events continue to keep children busy with such things as sack races….face painting….. fitness assessment, pet show, and adoptions…..  Children will have a ticket that informs them the time they will be admitted to get their book or paper signed.

    For example:   Children holding an A ticket will be seen from 2:00-2;15 ; children holding a B ticket will be seen from 2:15 to 2:30….until every child has their book or paper signed.

    Note: Erin Hunter will not sign books or papers at Warriors Day, due to time.  But every child can get a ticket at Warriors Day to get their book or paper signed!   No child will be turned away from the signing, Erin will stay until the last child is seen!
